I discovered the Rambos when I was about 11 years old. That was it for me! From then until today Dottie has been my little hero! I was totally devestated by the news of the accident and spent most of the night praying for Reba and the rest of the family. It’s hard to imagine the world without Dottie and I will miss her so much.

3. Donnie Williamson - May 12, 2008

Sis. Rambo was certaintly an inspiration in my life as she was to so many. It is because of her, and a few others like her, that I am in full time Gospel music ministry today. I was scheduled to perform with her in Aug. and was so looking forward to it.

I thank God for putting a few people like her on the earth to inspire the rest of us.

4. Elaine Harcourt - May 12, 2008

Just think of heaven’s choir today. Dottie, Howard, Vestal, Sam, Rusty, Glen Payne, George Younce and so many more!! God just needed that extra special touch to His choir and Miss Dottie Rambo was it. Dottie’s music has blessed my life for over 30 years. My 8 year old grandson loves her music and has worn out one of her DVD’s. God will continue to use Dottie’s music to bless lives here until our Saviour returns for all of HIS CHILDREN. We’ll pray for her family and the terrible loss they feel today. Take comfort in knowing she’s with the won she wrote so many wonderful songs about. God Bless You All.

Please accept our heartfelt sympathy to the family of Dottie Rambo & her staff. She is a great lady standing in the presence of her King. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her. We are praying for you. Heaven is sweeter today, though those left behind have an empty spot in their heart. Oh, but someday soon we’ll all be united in the Heavenly City with those gone before and standing in the presence of our Heavenly king, too.

I grew up listening to the many songs and sounds of Dottie Rambo. One of my mother’s favorite’s was Build My Mansion Next Door to Jesus. My mother went home to her mansion in Heaven over six years ago, so it is comforting to know that Dottie is up there and my mother can once again enjoy Dottie’s songs. Our prayers are with her family and staff.

13. Bob Pearce - May 13, 2008

I first heard the name Dottie Rambo back in the early 80’s. Her song “We Shall Behold Him” was sung by very good friends at Summit Assembly in St. Paul Mn. at a service.

I fell in Love with the song, and had to find out who wrote it. The rest is history. Now “The Holy Hills” have called her.

My Love and sincere prayers for Reba and the family. We’ll all see her soon.

14. Randall Smith - May 13, 2008

Dottie Rambo made a great impact on the world. She is now truly sheltered in the arms of God, something she longed for. It seemed in so many of her songs she could not wait to go to Heaven. Her dream has finally come true. She will be missed on earth. God bless her for staying true until the end.

15. David S. Comini - May 13, 2008

The Kingdom has suffered a violent attack yet in the shadow of this horrific incident we are comforted to know that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. I pray the Holy Spirit, the Comforter would comfort the Family, Staff, Ministry And Extended Family of Dottie’s. May The Lord Be With You in the Time of Sorrow in a very special way. Sincerely Rev. David S. Comini -HizSRVNT

16. Ronnie Hood, Las Vegas, NV - May 13, 2008

Dottie Rambo and The Singing Rambos were an influential part of my Christian upbringing. Her music not only helped instill faith and hope in me but also inspired me to greatness. Dottie’s music will always be a part of my life and I still sing and play her songs that are a source of comfort and encouragement. We will miss you Dottie!! At least now, “YOU’RE” teaching angels how to sing!!

17. Rev. Pacheco - May 13, 2008

My heart is torn between sorrow and great joy as we grieve the loss of this precious, anointed sister. While we have experienced a great loss, we celebrate her healing and her deliverance from the pain-riddled body and sorrow she experienced here on earth. Dottie’s legacy will live on in all of us, and today, “Tears do not stain those streets of gold,” except for the tears of joy Dottie is sharing with our Lord as He wraps His arms of love to welcome her home. God bless you, Dottie Rambo. We rejoice in your home-going! We pray for your family during this time and all those involved in the accident. We pray healing, strength, and deliverance from pain to all.

18. Katy Mae - May 13, 2008

I want to tell Reba and her family how very sorry I was to hear of her mother’s passing. I grew up listening to the Rambo’s. Her songs have such great means and blessings in them. As I have watched and seen her on TV as she spoke of what she has had to go thru over the last 10 or more years and come out on top as she did was a miracle of faith on her part. I know that some would say that the day the accident happened on was a horrible thing, but to me while we wish she would have made it through the crash, you will remember that your mom went to be with God on her special day! May you find peace in all that she stood for and for all that she did and give to others. Her great Memory will live on through you and your family. You are in our prayers.

19. Debra (Perry) Reed - May 13, 2008

Our loss is Heaven’s gain! Growing up loving SG music, I will never forget this wonderful lady. We started out singing all her most popular songs when we were kids. When our oldest brother, Johnny died a small hometown group sang “The Holy Hills of Heaven Call Me.” Those holy hills were calling Dottie Sunday morning and this was a call she wasn’t going to miss. We will all miss Dottie the Legend.

20. Tommy Niblack Jr. - May 13, 2008

I grew up listening to the Rambo’s,as they were frequent guests at the church I went to as a kid. Faith Oasis. I remember her as a devoted woman to the Lord! I followed her and her daughter’s career’s for some time ’cause they always came to our church when a new album of theirs would come out! I thank God for the many lives that He used her to help change, and bring to the knowledge of the love of God!! To the family, may the peace of God come to you during this hard time of your life, and remember the words to this song, ” Oh Lord you won’t let go,thru the trials, thru the storms,Oh Lord you won’t let go,thru every high and every low,No Lord, you won’t let go lOrd you never let go of me….” God bless you.

21. Dale Franks - May 13, 2008

During the mid 70’s, the Rambos had a concert scheduled at the church where my brother was the pastor in Albuquerque, NM. They came to Albuquerque several days early to rest and do some sightseeing in the area. While they were here we had several opportunities to share meals together and thoroughly enjoyed the fellowship.

On the day of the concert I was helping them set up for the concert when I received a call that my son had been hospitalized in Houston, TX, with viral spinal meningitis. Before leaving for the airport, I told Dottie I would have to miss the concert because of my son’s illness. During the concert that evening, Dottie stopped the concert and led the audience in prayer for my son’s complete recovery. By the time I arrived at the hospital near midnight that night, his condition was dramatically improved. I’ve always been grateful for Dottie’s sensitivity to pray on that occasion.

My heartfelt prayers and best wishes go to Reba and the rest of Dottie’s family during this season of bereavement. May the God of peace and comfort be with each of them.

22. Deborah Adams - May 13, 2008

Some of Dottie’s gospel songs meant so much to me. One of my very favorites” He Looked Beyond My Fault and Saw My Need” always brought tears of joy to my eyes because the verse reflected exactly how I felt about my own salvation. It still does to this day!

Dottie is with the Lord today and we can rejoice about it, but
for her family and friends left behind…you are in our thoughts and prayers. Also for the family of her loyal tour group; we will say a prayer for their pain and suffering during this time of uncertainty about tomorrow. Remember: God never fails us.

23. Charli - May 13, 2008

I first heard Dottie’s music on Sunday 4th May 2008 when I heard her and Dolly singing “Stand by the River;” a week before she died.
“The road’s been long, I’m a little bit weary,
A lot of miles behind me, but home’s a lot nearer,
I’ve got one more crossing, it’s a long way over,
Won’t you stand by the river and wait for me.”
How true those words were when I heard them last week. I’m still in shock. Jesus was waiting for you Dottie and He blessed me with hearing your music before he took you home.
To her family and friends I just want to send my best wishes. Thank you for sharing her with the world. May her memory be an inspiration and a comfort to you, as it will be for me. She was an extraordinary woman of God who touched many lives in her lifetime (she even made time to touch mine) before her very short crossing, I’m sure, into the arms of Jesus. She is truly sheltered in the arms of God watching over you and waiting for you.
God bless
Thank you for the inspiration Dottie

24. Sybil Presley Clark - May 13, 2008

What a lady! I’ve sung her songs as long as I can remember!
That wonderful deep strong voice stirred me always!
I walked through some of the same tragedies that she did
close to the same time that she did. So even though I never met her,
I’ve earnestly prayed for her many, many times. It was such a joy
to watch God miraculously raise her back up after such hard trials!
There is a wonderful book called, “Don’t Waste Your Sorrows!”
What a witness she was!!! God used every pain for a new song to touch the world! She never wasted a sorrow!
These words:
“Bars of bones hold my soul,
But the doors of clay will burst wide open,
when the angels set my spirit free!”
have carried me through many a troubling night!
I can’t wait untilI meet her in Heaven!
It will be worth it all!
Agape, Sybil

25. Rhonda - May 13, 2008

I grew up listening and following the Rambo Family! What a woman!
What talent! Look at the songs we now have to sing because of her!
God Bless our gospel singers and writers!

26. Susan Glassmeyer - May 13, 2008

Dottie Rambo was my Southern Gospel music hero. It was her songs that drew me into singing Southern Gospel as a 16 year old Christian girl who, before hearing The Rambos, had only sung old hymns and “sacred” music. Her songs were full of life, help, hope, and the joy of the Lord. That’s just what I needed at that time of my life, as the things of this world pulled at me from all sides. One of the first Southern Gospel songs I ever sang was “Build My Mansion Next Door To Jesus”. Dottie’s music has always encouraged and ministered to me. In her later years, hearing her testimony of God’s faithfulness and how He healed her when the doctors could do no more for her, it gave me hope and the assurance that what He did for her, He would do for me. Dottie, I will miss you terribly but I can imagine that you are beholding the face of the Savior that you loved and served so faithfully through the years. And I’m sure that you are teaching the angels how to sing!!! My love and prayers are with Reba, Donny, their family and all those injured in this tragedy. God bless you all.

27. Kimberly Kynard - May 13, 2008

Dottie Rambo blessed my heart everytime I saw her. She is a light and a true soilder for Christ. Countless times she pulled me out of a slump of misery with her songs and testimony. She will be truly missed. My deepest sympathy to her family. So long angel and see you in the heavenlies. Love you Dottie. You are now beholding him in all of his GLORY!!!

28. Robert Money (The Burns Family) - May 13, 2008

Sister Rambo’s songs have influenced me my entire life, Sheltered in the arms of God was the first song that I learned to play on the piano, she will be sorely missed in the Southern Gospel family, but we know for sure that her life and legacy will live on and on forever, The Burns Family from Dalton Ga. will be praying for the family in their time of sorrow, but just remember she is with her master, singing and prasing him with that plesent and happy smile, may God richly bless your family in this time.

God Bless

29. Michael Smith - May 14, 2008

30. Betty Thomas - May 14, 2008

Though I never had the privilege of meeting Ms. Dottie I feel as though I’ve lost a member of my own family. Ms. Dottie’s songs and the Spirit anointed delivery of those songs has ministered to my heart perhaps more than any other music. Last Thurs, May 8th, I was alone at one of the hospitals here in Houston and was having some tests done to rule out a tumor. In all my anxiety I heard Dottie Rambo singing Sheltered In The Arms of God – what an experience that was. And what peace welled up within me. And everything turned out O.K. I love her and will miss her. My prayers are with her wonderful family and her beloved staff who were injured in the accident.

31. Micah - May 14, 2008

I went to my first Christian concert when I was 11 years old. A number of acts were playing, including the Rambos. The curtains were raised and Dottie was standing in the middle of the stage; spotlight on her; wearing black, pleated knickers (remember those!), an ivory blouse with gold details, ivory and gold stockings and black patent leather shoes. Her hair was curled and she was wearing it up. She raised her voice and began to sing “Behold the Lamb”. From that moment, I wanted to be a Rambo! I have been singing Dottie’s music since then, almost 30 years, and have been blessed beyond measure by the words she has penned.

My absolute favorite Dottie Rambo song to listen and to sing is “Behold the Lamb”. I believe that when a saint enters the Kingdom of God, the angels gather around the throne and proclaim, “Behold, the Lamb of God who was slain from the very foundation of the Earth!” Many people have sung those words, and now Dottie has heard the heavenly angels singing those words to welcome her home.

BEHOLD THE LAMB

32. Paula Slow - May 14, 2008

I was so taken aback when I heard of Dotties death, heard it on the radio yesterday. May I say that it was a pleasure meeting her at the Christian Country Convention’s, and listening to her songs. God has truly blessed many through the music she composed and sang. He has touched them through her faith in Him and her personal testimony. I am one of them. Peace and comfort I pray for her family. I also am praying for Larry and Chris and any one else still injured by the accident. God Bless you all!!

33. Kris - May 14, 2008

Thanks to my Mom, we grew up on the Rambos. My heart literally broke and my world just stopped when I heard of Dotties death. My Mom had every single record they ever made. She would bring them home and turn the volume up…. full tilt. I still listen to their music even today. Because Dottie has been in my life for over 35 yrs, I feel like I have lost a member of my family. During some of the most trying times in my life, instead of whining and/or complaining I have learned to just sing to The Lord, “I Just Came to Talk With You Lord”. Fellowship with the Lord means the most.

I have been praying and will continue to pray that God will send His Holy Spirit to give each and every soul involved and touched by what has happened that sweet Jesus peace.

Well done thou good and faithful servant.

34. Rev. Jean Halvorson - May 14, 2008

As I sent to Reba, I wrote this in joyful memory of Dottie:
A Song for Dottie -
Enroute to sing about the Lord, Dottie met Him face to face.
With heaven’s harmonies blazing forth, she approached the praising place.
She, earth’s incubator of worship, found herself then fully born,
and the songs she gave to Jesus sounded like salvation’s horn.
Suddenly her hands received the jewel from God’s own eternal space.
It – the song God wrote for Dottie, did describe amazing grace.
This song, which held its high notes, with the absence of life’s own griefs, was a crescendo of deliverance, revealing all her sound beliefs.
Dottie’s song, in grand summation, were the gifts to God returned,
and God’s song welcomed the parchment upon whom its lessons were learned.
Love, Rev. Jean Halvorson

35. Daryl - May 14, 2008

She was one of the great writers of our time. In just about every season of life that I go through, I can use any number of her songs to remind myself of God’s grace, mercy and willingness to walk with me.

34 – Marilyn – May 14, 2008
I was saddened to hear the passing of Dottie Rambo. I remember watching her when she was on TBN singing with her beautiful voice. She inspired me so when I saw her trying to stand or even walk onto the stage and then to sing those beautiful songs and always had a smile on her face no matter how much pain she was in. She will be missed, but I know she is singing up in heaven all those beautiful words. Thank you Dottie Rambo.

37. Lisa Danielson - May 14, 2008

I’m a Contemporary Christian Music Listener – but grew up with my Grandparents & Dottie Rambo was always playing – I remember her from knee high. My G’ma is 94 & about to pass. Won’t she be tickled to hear Dottie’s voice alive & well … just in another place. I can worship to anything & when Dottie sings BEHOLD THE LAMB … oh my … I can almost see Him. Well, she IS seeing HIM now. Faith is now Sight for her. God BLESS you Dottie as you are Hugged up in Jesus Arms’ of Love. You were a tired soldier with a Spirit that would not stop – now there’s no pain. Halaluah! We will all meet you one fine day. I pray for your staff & especially for your daughter & family. I grieve for thier loss for HEAVEN is YOUR GAIN DOTTIE … You just sing on! We loved you.

38. Diane Elkins-Wininger - May 15, 2008

Buckie, Dottie, & Reba came to my great uncle’s church, Woodrow Archer, in West Baden, Indiana often when I was young. My brother Gary would sit in front with Reba. My brother was killed in a car accident also.
I’ve been a pianist & singer in churches since I was about 11 years old. I’m now the pianist at the Nazarene church in Jasper, IN. I grew up with Dottie’s songs & continue to play & sing them. I would have to say they are definitely my favorites. I think of her often & know she has made a great influence in the world. Reba you have my prayers.
My father just passed away last year & I said then the same thing I would say about her, They have finally won. They worked all their lives to meet Jesus, and now they have achieved their goal.
Goodby Dottie

39. Jim Else - May 15, 2008

As a PK from Kansas we were in church all the time as I grew up., but never listen to southern gospel music. But at the army I went to Wichita, Kansas to college. Across the street was Century 2, some church members came to Wichita for a concert and I went. On the program that night was the Rambo’s, JD Sumner and the Stamps and the Oak Ridge Boys this was in 1971. I was spell bound watching these great singers of God. I will never forget the blessing I received. Since then I never missed a concert if I could get to them. Went to the NQC the first time in 1976 and been there ever since 1978. 2006 I was at a show case and Dottie was singing and she was just as good as she was every time I got to hear her. I am sad of her passing but all Gods singers will be in heaven. I want to send my sympatny to Reba and her family. Sheltered In The Arms of God

40. Kathy in Maryland - 5/14/08 - May 15, 2008

I’ve listened to Dottie’s music as a young (12 years old) Christian girl & I still listen to & cherish her songs (now 44 years old). Her beautiful songs have blessed me, encouraged me, touched me & showed me the way to Christ. I am a life that has been changed because of her Christian example through music. I’m eternally grateful. My heart goes out to her family. I had recently watched a special on tv about her life & it brought back so many wonderful memories from my youth & of her what different songs of hers have meant to me personally in my life. I’m sad for us on earth, but happy for those in heaven who have now gained such a precious lady! God used her greatly & she was such a willing vessel for Him.
May God be especially near to her family & fans with peace, strength & comfort only He can give. I loved you & I’ll miss you so, Dottie!

I have loved Dottie’s songs since I was a child. For several years now I have been singing “Running My Last Mile Home” and didn’t realize until now that Dottie wrote it. I just found out tonight about her tragic death. I am in shock, but I know she has run her last mile home and is now with the One she has written about and ministered to many thousands with every word! Every time I sing a Dottie Rambo song, I will think about her. Our thoughts and prayers are with Reba and the entire Rambo family.

43. Lois Clardy - May 15, 2008

I wanted to share a personal favorite memory of Miss Dottie…

While at the National Quartet Convention in Louisville some years ago, I had told her she was my song-writing hero, and asked her “how she did it”, how she came up with such beautiful, yet powerful songs. I’ll never forget her reply…

She said, “Honey, you just start writing down how wonderful the Lord is, and how good He’s been to you, and it’ll all come together. He’ll give you the rest.”

How very true that is!!!

I was feeling so “down” after hearing the news of her tragic death on Sunday night, concentrating on OUR earthly loss. My heart broke for her children, who will now always associate Mother’s Day as the anniversary of their mother’s death.

How sad!

But then, I thought about Miss Dottie’s ULTIMATE Mother’s Day gift.

Wow! She got to go see JESUS for Mother’s Day this year! Truly, the most precious gift ever!

Needless to say, I wouldn’t bring her back to this wicked, sin-sick world, for anything! (In fact, I’m a little jealous.)

We will love and miss her tremendously!

But I cherish knowing that our loss is indeed Heaven’s gain!

44. Jeff Barnhill - May 15, 2008

I googled her son “He Looked Beyond My Faults (and saw my need)”. It was wonderful to see the number of vidoes of people of all races singing Miss Dottie’s song. Her ministry will go on as she helps teach angles how to sing.

45. christian - May 15, 2008

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Miss Dottie Rambo. It saddens me to think that one would die in such a terrible accident. I know that she is now in the arms of the Lord. I will continue to pray for Larry, Chris and the others…. They are friends of mine and I pray that they will recover fully…

My heart goes out to all her family. Ms.Dottie was a true blessing. She came to Port Orchard, Wa several years back and pulled me out of the crowd and had a word for me and prayed for me that night. I blessed her with a special gift that night. She will truly be missed by everyone. Prayers for recovery to all who were involved in that accident both physically and emotionally. Dottie, say Hi to my boy up there.

49. Pastor DeWayne Howard - May 16, 2008

I am saddened by this great loss, another soldier has laid down her armor. Dottie has always been an inspiration with her singing and writing talents. God has always used her in great ways to lead others to Him and to encourage the body of Christ. My heart and prayers go out to Larry, Judy, and the boys, Chris, Ronnie, and their families as you recover from this terrible accident. Just remember that nothing comes into our lives that doesn’t first pass through the Master’s hands. God will use this trying time in your lives for His good and His glory. There truly is purpose in the midst of our trials. Thanks for taking the time to be with us at Bridges of Hope Fellowship in McMinnville, TN earlier this year. We will always cherish each moment of our time together. Know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers.

50. Charlotte Tomaszewski - May 17, 2008

Since the early 1980’s Dottie’s songs touched my spirit and drew me closer to God . She made me feel God’s love and see it in her.. When she sang and played her guitar it made me feel like I was surrounded with a warm cozy blanket that I never wanted to give up.
God used her in a mighty way…she reached many souls and showed them what God was all about…and “if that isn’t love” I don’t know what is.
My mom and I had the privilege of seeing her April 19th in Fenton Michigan..what a joy that was and I am so thankful God allowed us to share that special time with her. She will be missed but now is her time to rest. We pray the Holy Spirit will fill her family with peace and comfort and speedy recovery to all who were injured.

51. Larry J. Russell - May 19, 2008

I remember the recording of Live At Souls Harbor. We were there for both sessions. The Rambos were a great influence in our ministry with the Native Americans. Our family learned many of Dottie’s songs and introduced the Rambos to the remote Native Reserves in Northern Canada. My heart is heavy at the thought of loosing such an inspirational servant of the Lord who has blessed so many people. I’m now a missionary in the Philippines, and though my family is not with me, I still sing many of her songs here. Many have been blessed by If That Isn’t Love; Tears Will Never Stain The Streets Of That City; I’ve Never Been This Homesick Before just to name a few. May the Peace of God, which passes all understanding keep the hearts and minds of all the family through Jesus Christ our Lord.

52. Will Mathews - May 19, 2008

My deepest sympathy to the family and to the staff of Dottie Rambo and to the healing of those that were injured on the bus who were with her, especially Chris and Larry.

On May 11th I was on MSN and there was a link on their front page that said “Song writer killed in Bus crash”, before I clicked it on I knew it was Dottie! Shocked and upset I was, but, I knew how special she was that God would take her on Mothers Day, she is now in heaven singing about the Holy Hills with her dearest sister Vestal Goodman (and so many others.) We Shall Behold Him sung by Sandi Patti in the video, Dottie exudes in Joy while Sandi sings, as if she wrote it for Sandi’s voice. God Only you knew! We praise God for all the lives Dottie has touched, and will continue to touch through out the years.

53. Tammy - May 20, 2008

Forty years ago Dottie sang in my home church in DeQuincy, LA and Reba and Pat stayed in our home. It is a memory that will never be forgotten. The annointed words of the songs written and sang by Dottie will forever hold a place in the hearts of many who shared the love of her music and the joyous love of Jesus Christ. God bless her family!

54. Sondro "Sandi" Ross - May 20, 2008

SANDI ROSS, HENRY FORBES & JOHN ROBISON

Back in early January of this year we were so blessed to hear MS. DOTTIE sing and praise the Lord in a little country church in Panacea, Florida. Henry brought a very old songbook and story book from his childhood and she signed it. She signed John’s guitar that night and I (Sandi) told her how during my long nights of illness she inspired me with her songs and testimonies on TBN. She signed a picture for my grandson’s birthday. We were all so blessed that night when she took time to hear our stories, even though she was so tired. She was a blessing to so many that night as she has been all these years. We want to say thank you to the entire staff which we saw being so dedicated to her. She commented on how blessed she was to be in that little country church, and how it reminded her of her childhood. We pray for the family and all the people involved in this terrible accident. Heaven has surely gained a precious mother and angel.

56. Yvonne Wingate - May 21, 2008

Dottie Rambo sang “We shall behold Him” and everytime she sang the words I would fill up with tears. I was at church on Tuesday evening (FaithWorld Orlando) and heard the news of Dottie Rambo going home. I am up now (time 2:42 a.m., 5/21/2008) and with the tears I can say, “She is beholding Him, face to face!”

To Reba and all the family, friends, and fans, I send my most heartfelt sympathy.

57. Bill Neil - May 22, 2008

I am a disabled man with Cerebral Palsy all my life. Miss Rambo and her husband have profoundly influenced my life. I am so sorry to learn of her tragic passing.

She is now, however in the precious arms of our Jesus and is at rest and enjoying the glories of Heaven. The Lord;s Servant, precious Dottie will be missed very much, but she is now no longer in back pain, and is now enjoying the Glories of Heaven. She was and is still in my heart, a precious lady of God.
With Love and Prayers, to all her family and Friends,

Bill Neil Absent, from the body, present with the Lord… Amen!!

58. Phil Richardson - May 24, 2008

I cannot begin to recall the many times over the years that I saw people rush to the altar to seek Jesus while hearing Ms Dottie’s songs about His love and compassion. While I never met Ms Dottie in person, I feel like I have lost someone much closer than distant celebrity. Surely her crown in glory has many jewels, for she has led so many people to God. May her songs ever be sung, so people can always find the Jesus that Ms Dottie portrayed in her music. God bless you Ms Dottie, and thank you so much for singing to me about God and His love. Say “Hi” to Ms Fannie Crosby from all of us, for she has led many to the altar as well. Most of all, tell Jesus that those of us still here in this life are so thankful for Him and His love. And we thank Him for sharing you with us while you were here. Now you have a wonderful life there in Heaven that we cannot begin to imagine, while here on earth you will ever live through your music. Thanks again, Ms Dottie, from all of us with much love, appreciation, and respect. God bless.

60. Bishop John L. Purvis, Jr. - May 31, 2008

The Legend Contiues in Heaven. Wow, What a Choir Up with the Angels. Dottie Rambo, The Goodmans, George Youncy, Mahalia Jackson, and so many other saints. I grew up with great music of Dottie Rambo, The Happy Goodmans. Dottie’s music ministered to me in such great depths; it helped me through some of the toughest times I endured growing up. Even though I did not have the chance to meet her. I always felt the inspiration of her music. She was my “Inspiration” to music. I did meet Dony McGuire (late 1980’s) at the Lord’s Church in Bellflower, California. Reba was not able to attend. When I heard the news of the accident and of Dottie’s death, it felt like losing a close friend or relative. I had a time of grieving; but, I know that she is now living the songs she wrote. WE SHALL BEHOLD HIM. Dottie Rambo is no longer an EARTHLY REASON; but, the legend of her music and the memories she gave will live forever in our hearts. We love You, Dottie, and We will miss you; but, we are assured that you are with the Heavenly Father.

67. Ron Price - November 19, 2008

I grew up with the Rambo’s and the Happy Goodmans. It doesn’t seem the same without Dottie and Vestal. But the rejoicing they are doing together in heaven and reflecting on the wonderfull times here on earth and all that singing….amazing……the Christian world seems just a little quieter now without them….

68. Jerry Boor - December 7, 2008

I’ve been following all the tributes to DOTTIE RAMBO and they are all wonderful how Dottie touched all our lives. I first saw the RAMBOS at the world’s largest Masonic Temple in Detroit, Michigan, which seats 5,000 in about 1968. They were there with the Happy Goodmans, LeFevres and Speers, as I recall. We could see Vestel Goodman backstage raising her hands and worshipping as Dottie sang. For those of you who may not be aware, if you send an e-mail to: Dottie_Rambo-subscribe@yahoogroups.com, the moderator there will add you to Dottie’s e-mail list which is still going on. It’s a way to continue to share in Dottie’s life and legacy. We need to encourage her music company to come out with the CD that she has already recorded. It would also be wonderful if a major motion picture would be made of her lifestory, which is absolutely tremendous. For example, did you know that she was forced to leave home at 12 years of age because of an abusive father? And did you know that the Ku Klux Klan threatened to kill her? If enough people get behind a movie project by letting their desires be known, it could happen! God bless you all as we remember the life of this very remarkable lady!

69. Linette - April 5, 2009

I just discovered today that Dottie Rambo went home to be with the Lord. I was so shocked to read of this. But to God be the Glory! I sang “We Shall Behold Him” several time in services and homegoings but see even more now that this song is becoming more and more real to me as the days go by. I truly want to see His Face in peace. I Shall Behold Him!

My prayers and thought are with her family and staff.
